Do i need an anti virus software for my yahoo mail?

From the Yahoo help section:

For All Applications, All Operating Systems, and All Domains

Email messages themselves can't contain viruses. However, files that are attached to messages can contain viruses.

When you receive a message with an attachment, click on the ''Scan and Download Attachment'' link. This will automatically check the attachment for any known viruses.

If none are found, you can download the file. If a virus is found, it will be automatically cleaned, if possible.

Generally speaking, you will not have to add any additional antivirus software for your emails. Yahoo is using Norton to scan attachments and it's doing a good job. You still need an antivirus program for the rest of your computer. You might find this article helpful about keeping your computer safe:

Hope this helps.
