What do you do if anti-virus software expires?

My computer keeps telling me that my Norton has now expired and asking me to resubscribe. Should I do this as it costs 拢40. I thought when I bought my laptop and got Norton with it that would be the end of it not that I'd have to shell out every year. Are there any other good programmes?

Seriuosly uninstall norton and get Avg,,,Avg is free but it doesnt cover your email,spyware and adware but you can goto http://xtremware.t35.com and Avg Full version comes with email scan,Virus protection and spyware and adware protection which Avg would charge you between $30-$50 but go there and you get it for free and free updates untill the year 2112,,thats what im using.
dont do it, norton is a complete system hog, down load zone alarm free firewall, avast free, avg free or aol free, they are all good, anti spyware download spybot search and destroy, lavasoft se personal again all free and your laptop will perform a lot better. Norton is kak

Get a free version, windows is pushing one, should be good.I dont know. clam is good, it is for Linux but I think there is a windows version now that microsoft bought novell.
