Is it true that viruses are created to sell Anti Virus Software?

No, viruses are usually created by people who just want to test their power. There are many Anti-Virus programs that are free, so the commercial versions are mainly promoted by their brand name rather than having an edge on the competition by knowing viruses before they hit.

Naaaah. I believe there's cases like that, though, but in general, viruses are written by obsessed, bored teens with angst. They get off on ''sticking it the man''. It's a cult of the ego, just the pleasure of beating others at a game of wits, but it's not a game.
oohhh..please.

Did we create crooks just so could could have cops???

There are crooks/criminals out there that like to do do his. Our job. To catch the crooks and put them away.
lol, no
of course yes, how do you think they will sell their software if there was no virus on the net
yes
No
yes
nope
no, if it where the viruses would be far less affective because every one would know how to thwart them, never mind the fact that the people making the viruses don't care who they hurt or profit. you also assume that all virus protection software is a purhased item. a large number of effective and free virus software is available. viruses cause more damage than the money made by attempting to protect you from them. never mind the fact you can buy a mac or switch to linux and be completely imune to all but the most malicious virus software. only windows is vulnerable becaue of all the backdoors microsft built into it and the fact that a single program can do anything it wants without your permission, a concept that is laughable on mac or linux.
