i use the free version of avast you can get it at cnet.com or pcworld.com. avg is good too, an free
I used to mcafee antivirus. but i think use whatever antivirus is not the matter the most important is to updates your antivirus.

I have been using AVG free edition since 2003. I have not had a virus to date. You really need to use it in conjunction with a firewall and several antispyware solutions also.
Mcaffe and Symantec are NOT THE BEST, They are probably the worst, Extremely slow, poor realtime monitoring, nominal detection, Must I go on. The only reason alot of people use McAfee or Symantec is because it came with their computer and they dont know what else to get..

Believe me, I work full time as a pc tech, and I am constantly uninstalling these two programs from users machines. Stupid bundled software...
