Anyone recommend good temporary, free firewall/anti-virus software I can download? Or outlook expres

Have just uninstalled McAfee, was ******* up and now I need something temporary before I buy myself a new one.

Also, if anyone knows much about outlook express.. please help!

I keep getting the message 'The host "xxx" could not be found..' and I've checked my account server etc and it is right. There is no firewall protecting it either. So why can't I download e-mail. It's extremely important.. we get all our orders (at work) through this account. Error message is '11004' or no. 0x800CCC0D

you do not need to purchase an antivirus. AVG or Avast are good enough
For free anti-virus I use AVG. Free firewall I use Sygate.

I've seen instances where Mcafee has blocked email ports (25 and 110). Try resetting the TCP/IP to original configuration. Use winsockfix....free and very effective....no bundled crapware too. A quick search will take you to them. Make sure you download the free version of AVG...
Download Nod32 Antivirus System. Its pretty good and get updates on dialiy basis from the net.

i reckon your outlook express is caused by IE7 not gaining connection to the server.
