What's an affordable and effective anti-virus software to use?

I find Norton too expensive. Are there good alternatives? What about Zone Labs?

What's an affordable and effective anti-virus software to use?anti virus software

If you have original win XP you can download Anti Virus from Microsoft.com namely, Computer associates(eTrust AV, 1 yr subscription), Norton 2006 , panda and McAfee(all others 90 days). These are free subscription downloads for Microsoft users.

ZoneLabs is pretty good, it is a complete security suite i,e with firewall, AV, privacy and anti spyware.

If you have a windows computer go to their website and they should have somewere a free virus from the microsoft company.
effective:

Kaspersky + bitdefender

affordable:

avast
Go for AVG Antivirus or Avast! both are free, well supported, and much easier on your computer than norton.
GO TO: http://www.trendmicro.com

IT'S FREE !!! This is what I use when Norton Can't Seem to do the trick.

Big Companies like http://www.stream.com use this tool!
If you happen to be a AT%26T Yahoo branded DSL service subscriber, you'd get the anti-virus software for free. I am pretty happy with the software they provided. It came from CA (compute associates), named EZ something.
Good two and affordable :-
