dont bother getting norton, its great when your paying for it, but if you change your mind it is a pig to get rid of and will KEEP giving you reminders that they want your money.
a much better option is to use %26lt;A href="http://free.grisoft.com"%26gt; AVG free%26lt;/A%26gt; firstly its free, secondly its a hell of alot easier to use than norton and even came ahead of nortons full version in some tests a while back. also you can buy a full version that comes with a few better features.

I'll second the AVG free - I started to use it based on the recommendation of my cousin (system engineer, plus 2-3 exams away from top Cisco certificate), and never regreted it.
Another option is e.g. Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic.
